Anyone who has developed a site knows there is more to construction than machines and muscle. Still, many contractors only handle physical construction, leaving site selection, budget preparation, financing, accounting and other project-management issues to their clients' discretion.
Aral Construction offers a constructive alternative to clients who lack the desire, time or ability to keep all these complex issues under control. By teaming client and builder - preferably at the concept stage - Aral provides valuable assistance that saves the client time, money and oversights.
Aral also simplifies money issues. For the projects it designs and builds, the company has sufficient resources to provide bridge financing itself or through other sources. In accordance with a client's wishes, Aral will assist in obtaining the short-term financing for all construction expenditures, or long-term financing.
Aral's successful, hands-on formula has worked at sites all over southern Vancouver Island. Since its incorporation in 1975, Aral has acted variously as a construction manager, project manager and developer of turnkey buildings.
Projects, some of which remain in Aral's own portfolio, have included custom commercial and residential structures, industrial park additions, municipal facilities, large-scale land developments and mixed use retail-residential buildings.
Different projects demand different levels of involvement. For one residential project, Aral negotiated with the Capital Regional District, obtained financing and civic approvals, and co-ordinated design, engineering and construction. For many commercial projects, Aral has arranged or assisted with budgeting, financing, design and construction management. In short, the company has handled everything from site searches to completion - including landscaping, finishing touches, ribbon cutting and ongoing property management.
While Aral has constructed its flagship projects from scratch, the company has also handled dramatic renovations and leasehold-improvement installations. For example, Aral has converted a former racquet club to a provincial courthouse, a private residence to a nursing home, and an appliance store to office space. While retail stores and offices have accounted for the bulk of renovation contracts, Aral has renovated buildings as large as a 176 suite hotel, which remained in operation during the work.

"Just a short note to thank you for the wonderful job in regards to our recent "face lift" at ENKON.
I am not aware of the Company names of each individual involved in the process or I would contact them myself. But I do want to make sure that everyone involved knows how much I appreciate their involvement. The drywallers, Kelly and his staff who did such a great job on the painting, the fellows who answered all my endless questions regarding the carpet, lino etc. Mark who placed each pot-light with such care and attention - all these people did a great job.
Please express our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in the project including the Project Managers at Aral. We are very happy with the results."
Yours truly,
Dallas Liu, Office Manager
Enkon Environmental
"On behalf of the residents, their families, volunteers, staff, and the Board of Directors of the Oak Bay Lodge Society, please accept this as a letter of recognition and appreciation for the work you and your firm completed on the Therapeutic Garden Project. Clearly this project has been a great success. It is both very esthetically pleasing and extremely functional. By virtue of the fact that several of the resident gardeners have already claimed their "pots" and are in the midst oh harvesting their crops (tomatoes were particularly popular), this garden has indeed been a very welcomed addition.
The implementation of the design of this venture reflected a project management approach, and approach which was new to our organization. The flexibility and creativity you applied to this process ensured the best value for the limited available funds. Your willingness to pioneer this method, to consult with the landscape architect and to coordinate the activities with all staff concerned was invaluable. It has been a pleasure for the Oak Bay Lodge Society to "conduct business" with yourselft and your firm. Hopefully we will be in a position in the future to be able to utilize your expertise. In the meantime the residents and the families will receive much pleasure from this fine garden."
Sincerely,
Pat Crofton, Chair, Board of Directors
Oak Bay Lodge Society
